Kodak Black And Nipsey Hussle: The Misogyny Jumped Out

Welcome back! before I begin this, I would just like to say that I mean no disrespect to Nipsey, and I would never want to go on a negative tirade about the deceased. I did not know who Nipsey was before he died, but his death was a terrible one and it just goes to show how even the wealthiest black people live a precarious life, especially in America. However, I think this is a very important topic to talk about, and despite what anybody might think, it is important to shed light on this. I am not one to talk about pop culture that much, so you know that this will not be a typical article you have seen on this occurrence.

About a few days ago, Kodack Black mentioned on his Instagram live that he basically had a chance with Lauren London now that her husband Nipsey was dead, and he would give her a few years to grieve. watch the video for more detail below:

Okay, if that doesn’t get you as heated as ever, I really do not know what will. Okay, yes, this is horrible on Kodak’s part. I mean, seriously? talking about a WIDOW in that manner? completely and utterly disrespectful to Lauren and Nipsey. However, that is not the point of this blog post. The point is what came after what Kodak said.

Not too long after, rappers like The Game. T.I., YG, Snoop Dogg e.t.c. starting coming out with videos addressing Kodak Black and his horrible behaviour. Seems fair, right? yes. Kodak deserved it completely. What he said was unacceptable. So where, you might ask, does misogyny come in?

Let me start by putting out Kodak’s history. He has had several rape charges for years. SEVERAL. Not one, not two, but SEVERAL. They arent private either. You can just google his name next to ‘rape charges’ and it will all pop up. He even has a recent charge in South Carolina, and I will leave the link to that article below.

However, all the people that knew Kodak stayed silent on this. No single comment. Also, Kodak Black has publicly talked about his dislike for dark skinned women, saying they are too ‘tough’, a popular link of darker skin to masculinity (which I might actually talk about at some point).

Kodak Black admits his dislike for dark skinned women because he claims they are ‘too tough’.

Still, no comment. No single comment from these rappers. We heard nothing yet again when Kodak sexualised Young M.A., a female rapper, saying that he ‘wants her’ even though we all know that Young M.A. is OVERTLY GAY. But no, nothing from these rappers.

Now finally, he talks about Nipsey’s wife and rappers care. Now he has been banned from L.A. radio, and multiple rappers hate him. Double standards, don’t you think? Kodak has been problematic for YEARS, and WE ALL KNEW THIS. Yet NOW you all want to cancel him. Funny.

It just goes to show that a lot of men only care about women in close connection to their male friend as a sister/mother/wife/friend e.t.c. They don’t really care about women in general. Only when it affects their own male friend. Interesting.

Thank you for reading. If you enjoyed this, like this blog post. Have some inquiries? don’t agree? leave a comment or send me an email. Lets talk about it, and together we can destroy misogyny. Until next time!
